Did you know that according to the EPA, indoor air is among the top 5 environmental threats to public health? That's because our homes are filled with building materials, combustion appliances, and, all too often, moisture that leads to issues like mold and mildew. 

At Energy Efficient Homes, we take a holistic approach to building performance to ensure that your home is as healthy as it is energy efficient. While we often focus our building efforts on preventing air leaks and effective insulation, we also take great care to prevent any moisture issues and other potential indoor air quality problems such as combustion safety issues, radon, and carbon monoxide. 

We believe that homes should be healthy and safe, and we take all the necessary steps to ensure that the homes we work on are just that. We build and analyze existing homes for radon gas and carbon monoxide gas, ensuring that all combustion equipment is working properly and safely, and in some cases recommend a mechanical ventilation system such as a heat recovery or energy recovery ventilator (HRV & ERV, respectively), which transfers the heat from air that's entering and exiting the home to the air that's going in the other direction, to ensure that your home's energy consumption is efficient and safe, while maximizing healthy ventilation and ensuring a healthy indoor environment.
